Angus Stone for Coopers
‘Born to brew’ may seem like a bold statement to many, but after dedicating over 150 years to the art of brewing, the Coopers family believe it to be true. For six generations the family business has upheld a proud legacy that began in 1862 when Thomas Cooper brewed his first batch of ale. Today, the unique brand of ales and stouts are enjoyed around the world and Coopers are still making these beers using the same traditional brewing methods – when they say hand made by the Cooper family’, they mean it.
Inspiring a new generation of ale lovers, Coopers welcomed a new summer season with the prolific relaunch of their renowned pale ale in the Australian market. Essentially the intention was to tap into the nation’s love affair with the sun, surf, laid back music and of course- great tasting beer, while aligning with a well-celebrated and highly credible Australian artist. Releasing Pacific Pale Ale in time for summer, the launch would see the brewery’s existing Session Ale renamed as Pacific Pale Ale with the new branded cans to be available nationally. The revolution would help make Pacific Pale Ale more distinguishable to consumers seeking a summer-style beer, while also reflecting the attraction it has with its identified style, refreshment and flavour.
As part of its national promotional campaign, Coopers teamed up with CEA client and renowned Australian singer/songwriter Angus Stone and the effortless swagger of his solo project Dope Lemon, as a Pacific Pale Ale brand collaborator. A superb icon in the Australian music, Angus Stone encapsulates the true life of one who embraces the coast, surf, sun and an undeniable golden hour at sunset- making it a perfect match for the launch of Coopers Pacific Pale Ale. In conjunction, Dope Lemon delivered a fully produced series of visually stunning and captivating digital pieces of content embracing the lens through which Angus Stone, the creative director of the project, sees the world. The partnership also saw Coopers help celebrate Dope Lemon’s second release and film clip of its highly anticipated third album.
Across various platforms the collaboration between Coopers and Angus Stone truly embraced the aligning values and visions of both, seeing impeccable coverage of the campaign. The brand’s intention of re-launching an iconic summer product to new and old ale lovers, collaborating with a credible and perfectly aligned artist was met with exceptional results making the campaign highly successful for both in the partnership.
